Cine Aajkal Bengaluru, 15 May 2023 (Agency). Karnataka Legislative Assembly election results are out. Here the Congress has uprooted the BJP by securing more seats than the majority figure and has proved that the general election 2024 has not been easy for the BJP. BJP's defeat in Karnataka has not only wiped out the party in the south, but has also lost its hold in 15 big states.

As per the declared results of Karnataka, Congress has won 135 seats, BJP 66 and JDS 19 in the 224-member assembly. That is, Congress has been able to get 22 seats more than the majority mark. Now Congress does not need any other ally here. Although the Congress was aiming to win 150 seats in this election, it could not achieve it.

Due to this election result, the ruling BJP has not only lost power in the state, but it will have to brainstorm to change its strategy in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. JDS has suffered the most in this election. It was not only limited to 19 seats, but has also reached the margins politically. Party chief H.D. Kumaraswamy will have to rebuild his party from scratch.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated the Congress party for this victory and said that I wish them all the best for fulfilling the aspirations of the people. He will serve Karnataka with more enthusiasm in the times to come.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi talks to reporters at party headquarters 24 Akbar Road after the election results. He said that this victory has proved that shops of love have opened in the market of hatred. He has thanked the people of Karnataka for this victory. Party workers celebrated the victory by beating drums.

Famous social worker Arvind Pathak has said that it has been proved by the Karnataka election results that there has been a decline in the popularity graph of BJP, but still Prime Minister Narendra Modi's popularity in the country remains intact. It cannot be said yet how much the result of Karnataka will be affected in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Non-BJP parties will have to unite to oust the BJP from power at the Centre.

Renowned Supreme Court advocate A.P.N. Giri has said that this much has been decided from the result of this election, that the popularity graph of BJP is going down. People are becoming vocal towards the main problems. After all, till when the attention can be diverted from inflation and unemployment.

AAP leader Haji Afzal, who has achieved the status of a national party in a short span of time, has said that it has become clear from the Karnataka election results that the people of the country are not going to be swayed by any emotion. He needs bread, clothes and a house. The central government has failed to stand up to the sentiments of the people.

Elections to the Legislative Assembly in Karnataka were held on May 10. The results were declared on May 13. The last date for filing nominations was April 20. The main active parties in the state were the BJP, the Congress and the JDS. The campaign was intensified. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda campaigned intensively on behalf of their respective parties.L.S.
